From Albanian to Zulu, LitiCourt provides Court-certified and registered interpreters for all languages and dialects. Whether your proceeding is a deposition, court trial, hearing, medical examination or witness preparation, LitiCourt ensures your interpreter will be fluent in English and the non-English language with strong memory and communication skills. Our interpreters have extensive knowledge of legal terminology, protocols and forms, and maintain good working relationships with judges, attorneys and other court personnel.
The vocabulary range of our interpreters is extensive and includes accurate interpretation on everything from formal language to slang terms. Diligently working to preserve the same tone and connotation from the witness/deponent’s original language, LitiCourt interpreters will not edit, summarize, omit, or change in meaning anything during the proceeding.
Methodology
There are two methods in which legal proceeding testimony is interpreted: simultaneous and consecutive. Simultaneous interpretation requires the interpreter to listen and speak at the same time. The interpreter will begin speaking aloud as the person is still completing their sentence. Consecutive interpretation is the most common type of translation for court and depositions. It begins after the person has completed their thought, sentence or phrase. Many times this means the interpreter will take notes or shorthand to make sure nothing is missed from the conversation.
If your matter requires medical examination appointments, LitiCourt’s interpreters will ensure smooth communication between the medical professional and examinee who does not speak the same language. In performing this function, the medical interpreter's commitment is to the goals of the clinical interview.
Translation
LitiCourt also has knowledgeable translators for written material and multimedia recordings responsible for translating the material accurately from English into the target language or from the target language into English. LitiCourt’s experienced translators will ensure that the original meaning of the document or recording is maintained for your case.
